Five (5) Maryland carved and painted duck decoys. 1st - 4th items: Four (4) carved and painted decoys attributed to Samuel Barnes (1857-1926, Havre de Grace, Maryland), including 3 canvasback drakes and 1 hen retaining the original paint. One canvasback branded RNS and JWS on the base. 5th item: One (1) canvasback hen attributed to Robert McGaw (Harve de Grace, MD, 1879-1958) hen branded H on the base. Ranging in size from 7 1/2" H x 14" L to 7" H x 15 3/4" L. All 1st half 20th century.
Condition
All decoys with scattered wear and losses. 1 Barnes canvasback decoy with patch and shaved base, additionally without weight. Another Barnes canvasback has a repaired neck and re-paint. Hen retains the original paint. 5th item: Head is a replacement, possibly Will Heverin.

Payment must be received no later than five (5) days after the sale.
Unless you are a known customer of Case Auctions, payment for all gold, precious metal, and gem lots must be made by bank wire transfer, ACH, certified bank check, or money order. No exceptions.
If you pick up your lots from any of our galleries, Tennessee state sales tax will apply. Sales tax will only be waived if you provide a valid resale certificate from your state of residence.
If paying with a credit card, a 3.5% credit card processing fee will be applied to the final sales price (i.e. hammer price + buyer's premium + applicable taxes). If you have a credit card on file with Case, any winning bids will be automatically charged (up to $3000) along with applicable fees 72 hours after you receive your invoice unless other arrangements have been made.
