Framed: 22" H x 15" W. 4th item: Captain James Cook (British, 1728-1779) 18th century copper plate engraving on laid paper titled "Pirogue de Guerre de la Nouvelle Zelande", Tome III, Plate 14, by Le Veau, from the First French Edition of Cook's Explorations in New Zealand, published in Paris, 1773. Depicts a Maori Waka Taua (war canoe), fully manned and sailing in the ocean with mountains on the opposite shore visible in the background. Title and engraver name, lower center and right below image. Hanging Around, LLC, Nashville, TN gallery label, en verso. Housed and double matted under glass in a ebonized wooden frame with metallic silver trim. Plate: 9 3/8" H x 14" W. Sight: 9 5/8" H x 14 1/4" W.
