Alex de Andreis (France/Belgium/United Kingdom, 1880-1929) oil on canvas half length portrait painting depicting a cavalier attired in a red coat with a lace collar and a wide-brimmed hat holding an embroidered green banner, and with an architectural column in the background. Signed "De Andres" lower right. Housed in an ornate gilt and gesso frame with c-scroll and cartouche decoration. Sight: 31 1/2" H x 25" L. Framed: 39 3/4" H x 33 1/2" W.
Overall good condition with light craquelure to the face and center of the work. One area of inpainting, upper left corner approximately 1" L, visible under UV light inspection. Frame with some light general wear and cracking.
