English School oil on board painting depicting a brown horse in profile, saddled and tied to a hitching post situated between a white picket fence. Unsigned. A. Gardner, Hackney Rd., London framer label, en verso of board. Housed in a rococo style giltwood frame with carved corners and centers. Sight: 8 1/2" H x 11 3/4" W. Framed: 12 3/4" H x 15 3/4" W. Mid/late 19th century.

Overall good condition with craquelure, rubbing to edges of board from frame, minute foxing spots. Frame with natural age shrinkage, areas of loss to gilt.
