Antique Baluch Afghan tribal prayer rug, wool on wool, with geometric and leaf-decorated cream ground mihrab within multiple traditional design borders. Woven in rust, blue, brown, and cream colors. 4ft 10in x 2ft 11in. Late 19th century.
Condition
Overall very good condition, a couple of small areas of repair and wear to the bottom margin, denim hangers en verso to top margin.
Provenance
Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
