Colt Model 1861 Navy Single Action Revolver .36 Caliber. Serial number 18778 corresponds to 1864 production year; with matching frame, barrel, butt, and trigger guard numbers; cylinder with "Colt's Patent No. 778". Marked on barrel, "Address Col. Sam Colt New York U.S. America". Brass mounted. Overall: 13.5" L; Barrel 7.5" L.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
Condition
Exhibits scattered small dings and pitting on metal surfaces. Action is smooth, cylinder cycles as it should. Barrel wedge is replaced; wedge screw absent. Bore needs cleaning. Lever stop replaced and loose.
