Antique Continental .800 silver jewelry or trinket box, rectangular with canted corners, the hinged lid featuring a domed repousse vignette of cherubs to the cover and cherubs and floral garlands to the sides. German hallmarks and .800 fineness marks to the underside. 8"W x 6"D x 3 1/2"H. Late 19th to early 20th century. 22.6 troy ounces.
Condition
Some very minor dents and scratches, overall excellent condition.
Provenance
This set was among the personal belongings sent out of Germany by a prominent Frankfurt family during the period of unrest before the start of World War II. It has descended in this family to the present consignor.
