Two (2) Captain Edward Vernon Rickenbacker (1890-1973) signed items, including one (1) photograph of Rickenbacker with written dedication in blue ink "To my young friend Bob Meyer" above signature and date: "Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker 1962"; and one (1) typed letter signed "Eddie Rickenbacker" in blue ink on "Eastern Air Lines" letterhead dated April 20, 1962 addressed to Mr. Bob Meyer regarding the photograph and additional information enclosed for use in the young man's American History term paper research. Both items housed and double matted under glass in a red painted wooden frame. Sights: 10 1/8" H x 6 7/8" W (letter) and 6 1/4" H x 4 1/4" W (photograph). Framed: 14 3/4" H x 17 1/4" W. Also includes four (4) bound texts regarding Capt. Rickenbacker, including one (1) copy of CAPT. EDDIE RICKENBACKER: COMPLETE LIFE STORY by Damon Runyon and Walter Kiernan, published by Dell Publishing Co., New York, 1942; one (1) copy of SKY BIRDS magazine, July 1935 issue, published by Ace Publishing Co., New York, 1935; one (1) copy of SEVEN CAME THROUGH: RICKENBACKER'S FULL STORY by Captain Edward V. Rickenbacker, published by Doubleday, Doran and Co., Garden City, 1943; and one (1) copy of RICKENBACKER'S LUCK: AN AMERICAN LIFE by Finis Farr, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Co., Boston, 1979.

Condition

Ink of signature on photograph slightly faded. Letter with minor creasing. Not examined outside of frame. Booklet and books with minor scattered toning to pages. Book jackets with minor wear to edges. Magazine with scattered toning, wear, and minor tearing of edges.
