Oil on canvas bust portrait painting of George Washington (after the original of America's first president by Gilbert Stuart). Signed "B. Cambon" upper right, possibly for Felix Urbain Cambon (France, 1875-1961). Housed in a giltwood frame. Sight: 19 1/2" H x 15 1/4" W. Framed: 23" H x 18 7/8" W. Late 19th/early 20th century.
Overall good condition with craquelure consistent with age. Some inpainting and pigment retouching in the chin and mouth area. Some abrasion to the perimeter and light buckling to canvas. Frame with scattered wear and chipping.
