Sandor Bodo (Hungary/Tennessee, 1920-2013) oil on canvas equestrian painting depicting Andrew Jackson in military attire astride a white horse beside a row of soldiers manning cannons observing a tumultuous, hazy battle scene with an American flag and cavalrymen in the right background beneath a smoky sky. Signed and dated "S. Bodo 1973" lower right. Anco Bilt Glendale NY stamp, en verso of stretcher. Housed and canvas matted in a giltwood frame with black-painted fillet accent and lamb's tongue molding. Sight: 17 5/8" H x 23 5/8" W. Framed: 24 5/8" H x 30 5/8" W.
Overall very good condition. Scattered areas of fluorescence visible under UV light inspection, not believed to be a restoration.
