Our July 6-7 Live Auction in Knoxville features more than 1,000 lots of Fine Art, Antiques and Jewelry from the founding family of Rogersville, TN, and from the historic Pinckney family of Charleston, SC; from the estate of William J. Eskind of Nashville; the living estate of Jerry Waters, Maryville, the estate of U.S. Ambassador Ron Schlicher of Brentwood, and from other fine estates and private and museum collections. East Tennessee late Sheraton/early Classical sideboard, descended from the family of Dr. Hugh Walker of Rogersville, Hawkins County, TN. Cherry and cherry veneers primary, poplar secondary. Consisting of a dovetailed gallery with shaped backsplash and returns over a top with thick half-round molding. Case with four circular bosses and figured frieze over one long center drawer and two flanking drawers, all dovetailed with figured drawer fronts. A highly figured Gothic arch inlay between each drawer. Lower inset case with four-ring turned full pilasters transitioning to circular boss designs and ending with ring-turned feet with circular balls. The two center doors have a wide arch design and two flanking doors with Gothic arch design. Each door interior opens to reveal two poplar shelves. Inset paneled sides with rear ring turned feet ending in circular balls. Back with three inset panels. 49.5" H x 77" L x 24" D. Second quarter of the 19th century.

Condition

Overall very good condition with an older surface. Lower center doors with vertical age cracks, left door with old patch to escutcheon, balls on feet terminus missing back third except for front right foot. Top with a couple of separation cracks from age.
