East Tennessee, Sullivan County, pie safe press. Cherry upper case having an applied canted cornice over two glazed doors, each with six glass panes and a blue and green painted interior. Ogee base molding and poplar secondary wood. The base safe form consists of tiger maple primary and poplar secondary with two dovetailed drawers over two doors with three punched tins, each with heart, star, fan, and feather decoration, matching tins to the sides. Case interior with older green and blue paint. Case resting on flattened and turned bun feet. 85 1/2" H  x 16 3/8" D x 45 3/8" W. Second quarter of the 19th century. Note: Descended through the Wofford Family from Sullivan County, TN.

Older refinish. The upper case is a later addition to the safe form. Some staining and wear to the top of the press, losses base molding, patched knot hole to right side, some panes of glass are absent but retained, and glazing for all panes has been reinforced. Tins to right side of the base with losses between the top and middle tin joint, small perforation to left side lower tin.
