French Directoire mahogany recamier or daybed. Consisting of a high curved headrest and low footrest, both with carved swan head finials and carved rosette within diamond decoration to the crest rails, and turned tapering Neoclassical feet with carved rosette decoration at the top. The daybed is fully upholstered on the front and back of the supports in a white cotton chintz and is fitted with a loose seat cushion. 30 1/2" H x 70 1/2" L x 21" D. 19th century.
Overall very good, stable condition with newer upholstery. Minor rubbing to corners of headrest, upholstery with a few areas of light grime.
