1st item: Standing photo of Robert E. Lee taken circa 1868-69 in the Lexington, VA studio of Boude and Miley, reprinted by Miley ca. 1900 with imprint of "M. Miley & Son" lower right. Card 8 1/2" x 6", image 5 1/2" x 3 7/8". 2nd item: Cabinet card photo of Robert E Lee in vignetted profile, with imprint of "M Miley, Lexington, VA" along bottom. After the original 1864 photo by J Vannerson of Richmond. Card 6 1/2" x 4 1/4". 3rd item: Robert E. Lee seated with left profile, a circa 1900 Miley studio reprint of the original by Matthew Brady, with “M. Miley & Son” imprint underneath, lovely sepia toned with softened features and “Miley” signature in plate lower right. 1939 gift inscription on verso. Card 9" x 6", image 5 1/2" x 3 7/8".
Condition
1st item: 2" horizontal mark to top of Lee's head, some silvering to deep blacks. 2nd item: Rubbing/toning to card. 3rd item: Slight toning to card.
