Ethiopian Coptic Bible or Prayer Book on vellum with wooden covers, written in Ge'ez script used in modern languages such as Amharic and Tigrinya.  Red ink is used for headings and section dividers, or the phrases the priest / reader leads in a service, while black ink for the body of the text. The call-and-response format is typical of Ethiopic liturgical books. The book begins with “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.” 6 1/2 in x 5 in x 1 1/2 in. 18th century or earlier. 

Condition

Very good overall condition with later binding; writing on last page. Pages curved at edges with signs of handling.
