J. Langlois (United Kingdom, 1855-1904) oil on board painting depicting two terriers watching a hole in the ground in a coastal landscape setting. Signed "J Langlois," lower right. Housed in an ornate giltwood frame. Sight: 7 1/4" H x 9 1/4" W. Framed: 12" H x 14" W.
Several areas of paint loss including lower right and to distant hillside at right and smaller dog. Largest to lower right, 1/2" x 1/2". Areas of retouching to corners and sky visible under U/V light, largest to upper left corner, 1 1/4" x 1". Some losses to frame.
