Janet Munro (Massachusetts/Florida, b. 1949) oil on board Naive rural view pictorial history genre scene landscape painting titled "Palisades on the Hudson" depicting a small 19th-century farming village along the Hudson River in New York, the inhabitants engaged in various activities before their houses, with several boats, including a riverboat, sailing around a cove surrounded by bluffs and grassy hills in the background. Signed and dated with a copyright symbol "J.L. Munro 2006" lower left. Titled, with additional artist's signature, date, and inscriptions, en verso of board. Housed in a giltwood frame with bead course fillet. Sight: 23 3/4" H x 17 3/4" W. Framed: 25 3/4" H x 19 3/4" W.
