Jeanne Davies (Pennsylvania/New Jersey, b. 1936) oil on canvas painting titled "Quail Hollow on the Brandywine" depicting a large brick house surrounded by a garden with floral foliage, figures, animals, a flowing stream, and a boat resting on the riverbank. Signed "Davies" lower left. Title and artist name on nameplate, lower center. Housed in a contemporary gilt frame with carved decoration. Sight:19 1/2" H x 23 1/2" W. Framed: 24 1/2" H x 28 1/2" W. Note: Jeanne Davies is known for painting children's portraits, farm and genre scenes, and folk artworks of Amish everyday life.
