Jeanne Davies (Pennsylvania/New Jersey, b. 1936) oil on canvas genre painting titled "American Peaceable Kingdom" depicting a variety of barn animals including a cow, bull, ram, horse, sheep, and chickens gathered outside of an old farmhouse. Signed "Davies" lower left. Title and artist name on nameplate, lower center. Housed in a contemporary gilt frame with carved decoration. Sight:19 1/2" H x 23 1/2" W. Framed: 24 1/2" H x 28 1/2" W. Note: Jeanne Davies is known for painting children's portraits, farm and genre scenes, and folk artworks of Amish everyday life.
