Kentucky Sheraton cherry sugar chest, poplar secondary. Rectangular case form having a plain partially hinged top opening to a divider, highly figured cherry front and figured case sides that dovetail into the base. The base with a shaped skirt and turned Sheraton feet. Beveled backboard with old paint script, "Mahoney". The case underside appears to retain all original glue blocks. 31 3/4" H x 32" W x 18 1/4" D. Kentucky (possibly Lexington area), Circa 1825.

Condition
Refinished surface with some scattered expected wear and abrasions. Right side with sun fading. Interior divider appears to be a later replacement or addition with later added interior corner blocks. Top lock is a replacement. Some horizontal wood shrinkage to upper front case.
