Angel De Service Espoy (California, 1879-1963) oil on canvas seascape painting depicting waves pounding onto a shoreline at sunrise. Signed lower left "A. Espoy". Housed in a gilt-carved rococo-style frame. Sight: 29 1/4 in H x 39 5/8 in W. Framed: 36 in H x 46 in W. Biographical Note: Angel Espoy was known for his seascapes and maritime subjects that reflected his passion for the sea; however, he was also an accomplished painter of California landscapes with poppies and lupines. 

Condition

Overall very good condition with light surface grime. Canvas has been lined. Scattered, minor, primarily pinpoint retouching throughout, especially to sky, largest  1/4 in x 1/8 in.
