Fourteen (14) pieces 18th Century Scottish and Irish Sterling Silver flatware, most bearing the MacLean family coat of arms, including one (1) soup or punch ladle hallmarked for James Hewitt and Robert Swann, Edinburgh, 1786-1788; five (5) tablespoons hallmarked for Francis Howden, Edinburgh, 1790, four (4) teaspoons hallmarked for Francis Howden (no date letter), and four (4) assorted Irish (Dublin) teaspoons, all of the same period.  All pieces are of Neoclassical design, having pointed oval handles with similar bright cut decoration, including oval reserves.  The reserves on the ladle, tablespoons, and 4 Howden teaspoons enclose MacLean family crests and monogram H McL. 2 Irish teaspoons have the H McL monogram with no crest, 1 Irish teaspoon is monogrammed M / IM with no crest and the remaining Irish teaspoon has no monogram or crest. Combined total weight:  21.65 oz troy. Ladle length 15 inches.

Condition

1 teaspoon has a solder repair to handle, otherwise all items in very good condition with light wear.
