No date (1567). Small 8vo., 494pp (22pp index), contemporary limp vellum over boards with leather thong sewing; yapp-edge covers; handwritten title on spine; printer's woodcut device on title. 6 3/4 in. x 4 1/2 in. x 1 1/4 in. Note: Theodor Zwinger (1533-1588), a significant figure of the late humanist movement in Basel, was a multifaceted Renaissance scholar: a humanist, physician, philosopher, and polymath. Financially backed by publisher Perna, he authored books on ethics, history, and travel, but is best known for commentaries on Galen and Hippocrates as well as on Aristotle’s NICHOMACHEAN ETHICS and POLITICS.

Vellum intact with spotting and soiling; modern paper label affixed to front cover; pencil and ink handwriting inside front pages.
