Pair of Renaissance style pelmets or drapery valances, burgundy silk velvet with appliqué raised floral scroll designs embroidered in metallic threads, and finished with tassel trim. Each with later bindings to backs. Each 59 in. W x 48 in. H. French or Italian, late 18th or early 19th century.
Condition
Overall good condition with some fading and wear to velvet pile, a few small losses/breaks to embroidery threads, some losses to applied strip at border, tassels likely added later.

The estate of Dr. Michael Spalding, Nashville, TN.
