Six (6) coin silver forks with leaf and scroll design to handle, incuse marks COIN / KLEIN & BROTHER. PAT 1856 for John and Julius Klein, working in partnership in Vicksburg, mid-1850s. Monogrammed CG. 7"L, 8.66 oz troy. Note: John and Julius Klein began their careers as silversmiths in Leesburg, VA. In 1836 John moved to Vicksburg, MS. Julius joined his brother in Vicksburg in the early 1850s and they formed the firm Klein & Brother. In the 1850s Klein & Brother advertised as manufacturers of silver. Ref.: Hollan, Catherine B. Overall very good condition with minor wear to tines and one small spot of pitting to one handle, slight wear to monograms and marks.
