Sterling Strauser (Pennsylvania, 1907-1995) oil on board still life painting rendered in a heavy impasto technique depicting a vase of flowers set upon a blue surface against a mint green background. Signed and dated "Strauser 78" lower left. Housed in a chrome painted carved wooden frame with mint green fillet. Sight: 23 7/8" H x 11 7/8" W. Framed: 33 7/8" H x 21 5/8" W.
Private Nashville estate, purchased Lyzon Gallery, Nashville, c. 1989.
Overall good condition with minor abrasion to paint layer, largest area measuring 1/8" x 3/8" at lower left corner. Frame with scattered minor losses, largest measuring 1/4" x 1/2".
