After Raphael, European school oil on canvas painting depicting the Virgin Mary seated next to Saint Elizabeth in an interior setting. The Christ child sits on Mary's lap with His right hand raised to bless Saint John the Baptist, also depicted as a child kneeling before Christ while holding a cross-topped staff. A male figure, possibly Saint John is visible to the upper left looking in from the outside. Housed in a contemporary Italian carved gilt frame. Sight: 18" H x 14" W. Framed: 25 3/4" H x 21 5/8" W. 19th century or earlier.

Condition
Painting with overall grime, some scattered areas of paint exfoliation. Old patch visible en verso, with some looseness to the canvas. Frame with minor abrasions to the outer edge.
