Baroque style faux tortoise shell veneered and bronze mounted ebonized bargueno or collector's cabinet. The top features a carved openwork pediment topped by urn and teardrop finials, over a ripple-carved cornice with projecting center section. Long top and bottom drawers with ripple molded edges and faux molded fronts, simulating the top and base of a central arched portico, enshrining a gilt bronze goddess figure flanked by two tortoise veneered columns. The portico section pulls out to reveal a deep prospect drawer with hidden compartment in the lower section. The center section is flanked by three short drawers on each side. All drawers are dovetailed, veneered in tortoiseshell and edged in ripple moldings, with ormolu figural heads for knobs. The cabinet has plain ebonized sides and is supported on a molded base atop ball feet. Pine secondary wood. 26 3/4 in. H x  25 in. W x 11 1/4 in. D. Spanish/Iberian or Italian, 19th century. 

Overall good condition. Some cracking, small losses and restorations to veneers and moldings. Repair to pediment. Veneers and bronze mountings may be later.
