1st item: Hand-painted gouache miniature silhouette portrait of a military officer, possibly English, on bone with gilt and color embellishments. Housed under glass in a painted and giltwood beaded frame with carved oval border. Sight: 3 5/16" H x 2 5/16" W. Frame: 11" W x 12" H. 2nd item: Wax relief bust portrait of a European or American soldier mounted on velvet and housed under domed glass in a giltwood rococo frame with floral ornamentation. Both 19th century or earlier. Portrait: 2 1/2" W x 3 1/2" H. Frame: 10" W x 11 3/4" H.
1st item with surface grime and 1/4" L crack to lower edge. Some wear and losses to frame. 2nd item is in good condition, with fading to velvet. Frame with some losses including 1 1/2" L areas to lower edge at right and lower left side, plus cracked, loose scrollwork along center right edge, 2" L.
