1st item: Painted wax carved relief bust portrait of a British soldier with trifold cap, ponytail wig, and military attire. Housed under glass in a wooden shadowbox frame with gilt top and sight edges. 2nd item: Miniature portrait depicting the German composer Richard Wagner with neckbeard and beret. Signed "N. Gallio," lower right. Housed under glass in a pierced gilt metal frame within a larger chrome-painted wooden shadowbox frame. 3rd item: Miniature portrait depicting an aristocratic woman in a wide brimmed, feathered hat. Signed lower right, possibly "Harrys." Housed in a round giltwood frame with reed and ribbon edge. 4th-6th items: Three (3) miniature portraits of English ladies, including one (1) depicting "Lady Grey" with her hair piled high, one (1) depicting "Lady Pilkington" with a feathered hat, and one (1) depicting "Lady Hobhouse" with veil and fur boa. All housed under glass with gilt sight edges and placards bearing names in a chrome-painted shadowbox frame. Sights ranging in size from 3" dia. to 14 1/2" H x 4 1/2" W. Frames ranging in size from 4 5/8" dia. to 17 1/2" H x 6 1/4" W. All items late 19th/early 20th century.

Condition

1st item: Minor scattered wear to paint layer. Hairline split to wax at neck. 2nd item: Minute wear to left side. 3rd item: Minute wear to edges. 4th-6th items: Minute scattered wear to edges. Glue residue evident to center portrait; all portraits have shifted slightly in the frame.

Unless you are a known customer of Case Auctions, payment for all gold, precious metal, and gem lots must be made by bank wire transfer, ACH, certified bank check, or money order. No exceptions.


If you pick up your lots from any of our galleries, Tennessee state sales tax will apply. Sales tax will only be waived if you provide a valid resale certificate from your state of residence.


If paying with a credit card, a 3.5% credit card processing fee will be applied to the final sales price (i.e. hammer price + buyer's premium + applicable taxes). If you have a credit card on file with Case, any winning bids will be automatically charged (up to $3000) along with applicable fees 72 hours after you receive your invoice unless other arrangements have been made.
