Includes 1823 broadside published privately by James M.M. White (son of Hugh Lawson White) of Knoxville regarding his gunfight with B.P. Maclin; 1797 indictment of Robert Parker for "burglariously and feloniously taking 500 Spanish Milled dollars from a private residence" (Grainger Co.), 1823 appointment of Justices of the Peace for Morgan County by the General Assembly (James Fentress signature); 1798 Willie Blount and Robert Houston signed bail bond for James Holland of Knox County; 1805 Cocke County judgement against Shadrach Inman including fee "leavied on 2 Negroes, not time to sell before Court"; Four 1807-1808 documents related to a lawsuit between future U.S. Senator Jenkin Whiteside and John Hackett of Knox County (1 is signed by Whiteside); Charles McClung signed 1816 court document; 1 small store ledger with paper covers (no date, city or owner's name found); 1823 4-page document recording travels in East Tennessee, Virginia, Washington and Philadelphia, with distances and landmarks including taverns and towns (Rogersville, Pikeville, Kingston, Knoxville, Bean Station, Abingdon, New Market, Salem, "Pattersburgh", with notes of purchase including at least five slaves (page 4) along with various items such as spurs, wagon and harness, etc.; 1854 announcement of public sale of a watch and 2 pistols belonging to Hugh White, and other various documents.

All items encapsulated or housed in plastic sleeves, with expected age-related condition issues: toning, fading, light foxing, discoloration, small tears and losses. 1797 indictment has date "1797" inscribed in pink colored pencil, scattered pencil notations.
