Jose Bumanlag David (United States/Philippines, 1909-1990) oil on canvas board Filipino landscape painting, 1935. A man in a conical salakot hat rides a water buffalo while two other water buffalo stand at left by a patch of bamboo. In the background are a small, thatched-roof building and a distant mountain range. Signed "Jose B. David" and dated lower left. Housed in a modern wooden frame. Sight: 13" H x 9 1/2" W. Framed: 18 1/2" H x 15" W.
Condition
Very good overall condition. With light surface grime and minor cracking to thicker passages of paint, primarily sky at upper right.
