Kathe Kollwitz (German, 1867-1945) bicolor lithograph in dark and light brown ink and scratch technique on ivory wove imitation Japan paper, titled "Bewaffnung in einem Gewolbe (Arming in a Vault)." Depicts a throng of armed peasants ascending a spiral staircase in advance of a revolt, including a woman whose face is left partially uncolored, emphasizing her emotional expression.
