Annie Redshirt was the daughter of Chief Red Shirt, the noted Sioux War leader, delegate to Washington in 1880, and later, celebrity associated with the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show. This portrait, on a Devoe-labled artist board, was painted after the 1898 photograph of Annie Red Shirt by Frank A. Rinehart, which was released as a postcard by 1905. 

Painting: A few minor scattered spots of wear and retouch visible under UV light, most notably to the left eye, 3/4 inch x 1/4 inch, plus minor frame abrasions. Wear and some small scattered surface losses to frame.
